Online Sessions

Online sessions are a convenient and highly effective way of undergoing psychotherapy.

I am qualified in online psychotherapy based in Richmond on the border of Surrey and South West London close to Twickenham, Hounslow, Feltham, Isleworth, Ealing, Barnes, Sheen and Putney.

I will email you a recurring link to our session via the secure platform Zoom which sets out our agreed day and time. Psychotherapy is most effective with weekly sessions and guarantees my availability to you. Please click the link to your session and you will be admitted to access our online session.

I also offer face-to-face sessions in Greenhouse Therapy Rooms in Richmond.

How It Works

I offer a FREE 15-minute initial telephone consultation, where I ask you questions and learn about your issues. I will explain my approach and answer any questions or concerns you might have. We then schedule our first online session, which is charged, so we can get to know each other and decide if we wish to work together.

There is no obligation to continue. If we want to proceed, in the case of private psychotherapy, we might book in a further block of sessions (usually at least 6) and then review. Beyond that we work together and review to see if we are on track and to take in other issues that we become aware of. I will inform you of any upcoming absences or holidays, so you are not charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should you expect from psychotherapy sessions?

I understand how difficult it can be to open up to strangers, but I create an approachable, safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment so you feel at ease.

When you start working with an online therapist, you may feel nervous about meeting someone new. I am a fully qualified psychotherapist accredited with UKCP and registered with Metanoia Institute, IARTA, BAATN, EATA, ITAA, BACP.

I am a professional registered with ICO regarding holding your data and DBS checked and fully insured.

Is Transactional Analysis right for you?

Unlike other forms of psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis has a variety of applications in different life positions. Transactional Analysis psychotherapy focuses on how you relate to yourself and people, whether it's a family member or someone at work. It helps build an understanding of why you interact differently with others, including nonverbal communication like body language and facial expressions - paving the way for effective communication.

What happens during our initial consultation?

Firstly, you'll need to schedule an initial telephone consultation to briefly discuss what issues you are experiencing and your goals for therapy. If you are not sure and are feeling restless or unsure this is a space to use to find out what is troubling you or that you are struggling with.

You'll also be able to ask any questions about the process. After your initial consultation, we can book in your first in-depth online session (sometimes called as assessment) to gain more insight into each other and to see if you feel comfortable speaking with me. After your first session, if we want to proceed with more, we book the same day and time every week.

What happens if I cannot attend our pre-booked session?

The standard procedure is to book the same day and time consecutively every week. If you are unable to make the appointment, please let me know in advance and any unattended session is charged at my standard rate.

Are our online therapy sessions confidential and private?

Confidentiality is the basis for a successful therapeutic relationship. It makes the client trust us and feel safe to open up and be honest.

My ethical framework is UKCP where the first ethical principle in the UKCP Ethical Framework, is to do no harm, and act professionally: ‘Being trustworthy – honouring the trust placed in the practitioner’, and to ‘show respect by protecting client confidentiality and privacy’.

Everything you discuss during our sessions is confidential. There are only two exceptions to this where I am obliged to break confidentiality: if you disclose involvement in or knowledge of any criminal activities or if there is a safeguarding issue if you or any adult related to you or your child could potentially be under threat of harm or abuse.

Please be aware as part of my ongoing commitment to UKCP ethics, I regularly have supervision with several accredited UKCP psychotherapists where our work is discussed in an anonymised way to ensure that I continue to work effectively with you. They have no contact with you.

Why are there no testimonials on your website?

Testimonials are a breach of confidentiality, plain and simple. To ensure that I adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, I work to a strict ethical code of conduct that exists for one purpose only: to ensure that my clients receive the highest level of integrity and trust in our therapeutic relationship.
